Privacy and cookie policy

This notice explains how the personal data of visitors to www.revamping.eu, and of those who contact us through the forms on the website, are processed, pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). The Italian version prevails in case of discrepancies.

1. Data controller

2. Data processed

Browsing data

As with any website, the systems running the site record some technical data for each visit: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, outcome of the request, browser and operating system. They are used to keep the site working and secure and to detect abuse; they are not used to identify or profile visitors.

Data sent through the contact forms

When you fill in a form we process the data you enter: name, company, country, phone number, e-mail address and message (quotation or information requests); name, phone number, e-mail address (optional), brand, model, faults, size and weight of the gearbox, the photos you attach and your message (used gearbox valuation requests).

The IP address, date and page from which the request was sent are recorded with it, for security purposes and to prevent automated submissions (spam). Please do not enter data that are not needed for your request.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Replying to your requests and managing any resulting business relationship: pre-contractual measures taken at your request and performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Website security and abuse prevention, including the limit on submissions from the same IP address: legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligations, e.g. tax and accounting, if a business relationship follows: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Playing YouTube videos within the website: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), see section 9.

4. Providing your data

Providing data in the forms is optional, but the fields marked with an asterisk are required to process your request.

5. How data are processed

Data are processed electronically by authorised staff of the controller, with security measures suitable to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Form submissions are forwarded by e-mail to the controller’s sales office; the website does not store them in its own archive. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

6. Recipients

Data may be processed on behalf of the controller by the providers of the technical services needed to run the website and e-mail (hosting and maintenance), acting as data processors. Data are not disclosed or sold to third parties for marketing purposes, and may be shared with the competent authorities where required by law.

7. Place of processing

The website is hosted on servers located in the European Union (France). Only if you accept YouTube videos, Google may also process some data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (see section 9).

8. Retention

  • Form submissions: for as long as needed to handle the request and any resulting business relationship, and then for the periods required by law.
  • Anti-spam counter: the IP address of whoever sends a form is stored in encrypted form (hash) to limit repeated submissions and is deleted automatically within 24 hours.
  • Browsing data: server logs are deleted automatically on a rotating basis, normally within a few months, unless they need to be kept longer to investigate computer crimes.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. The www.revamping.eu website:

  • does not use profiling cookies, analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) or advertising tools;
  • does not set its own cookies: to remember your choice on the banner it only stores in your browser (localStorage) a technical record of your preference and its date, which stays on your device, is not sent to the server and is asked again after 6 months;
  • hosts its fonts on its own server, so it does not contact external services such as Google Fonts;
  • shows social network icons (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram) as plain links: no data is sent to social networks unless you open them.

YouTube videos

Some pages about gearbox revision contain videos published on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited. Until you give your consent, the page only shows a preview image stored on our server and does not contact YouTube. If you accept on the banner, the videos play within the page in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com): when playing, YouTube may set cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy. If you reject, clicking a video opens its page on YouTube.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time with the link, also available at the bottom of every page. You can also delete the data stored by the website or block cookies in your browser settings.

10. Your rights

You may at any time ask the controller for access to your data, rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, write to info@tecnicaindustriale.it or to the certified address amministrazione@pec.tecnicaindustriale.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of your country.

11. Changes

This notice may be updated, for example following changes to the website or to the law. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
